University of Basrah Organizes an Awareness Panel Discussion on Reducing Irregular Migration
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized an awareness panel discussion entitled “The Risks of Irregular Migration and Ways to Reduce It,” as part of its programs aimed at enhancing students’ community awareness.
The discussion focused on highlighting the negative impacts of irregular migration, clarifying its causes and underlying motivations, and addressing the legal and social challenges faced by migrants in destination countries.
The panel, delivered by Dr. Mohammed Malik Yassin, covered the concept of irregular migration, relevant international and national laws, and the mechanisms adopted by states in dealing with asylum seekers, emphasizing the importance of creating developmental alternatives to curb this phenomenon.
