University of Basrah Receives Students of the University Girls’ Secondary School
The Natural History Museum at the University of Basrah received students from the University Girls’ Secondary School, accompanied by their teaching staff, as part of a scientific visit aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and strengthening knowledge of biodiversity and the importance of protecting living organisms and their natural habitats.
The visit sought to link theoretical academic learning with direct field observation and to familiarize students with the role of scientific museums in promoting environmental culture and broadening their scientific perspectives.
During the visit, the students toured the various exhibition halls of the museum, where they viewed biological specimens, skeletal remains, and taxidermied animals. They also listened to specialized explanations provided by the museum staff regarding the characteristics of the exhibits, methods of preservation, and their educational significance.
This visit forms part of the museum’s ongoing programs aimed at supporting the educational process and providing an informative and cultural environment that contributes to building a generation that is aware of and well-informed about the importance of biodiversity in Iraq and worldwide.
