University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Women’s Mental Health in the University Environment
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar entitled “Women’s Mental Health in the University Environment”, with the participation of a number of faculty members and students. The seminar was held as part of the university’s efforts to promote awareness of mental health within the academic community.
The seminar aimed to highlight the most prominent psychological challenges faced by female university students, particularly academic stress and the difficulty of balancing academic responsibilities with personal life demands.
It also emphasized the importance of institutional support through psychological counseling services and awareness workshops, alongside self-care strategies such as maintaining a healthy diet, ensuring adequate sleep, and developing self-awareness.
The seminar, delivered by Dr. Amal Mohi Zowaid and Dr. Noor Majid Awad, underscored the role of psychological empowerment in achieving balance and enhancing academic success and personal stability within the university setting.
