University of Basrah Organizes Scientific Workshop on Cinematic Camera Narratives
The College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah organized a scientific workshop titled “Cinematic Camera Narratives.”
The workshop aimed to introduce students to the positions, angles, and orientations used by the cinematic camera in filming scenes, highlighting their role in constructing visual storytelling and the aesthetic, intellectual, and psychological effects they create on the audience.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by faculty member Badr Shawqi Al-Zawaar, who provided a theoretical explanation supported by practical applications. The lecture covered the fundamentals of selecting the optimal camera position and the techniques for utilizing various angles and movements to serve the dramatic and narrative meaning of a cinematic work.
