University of Basrah Discusses Cooperation with the Popular Mobilization Commission
The Director of the Cultural Center at the University of Basrah, Dr. Nizar Abdul Mohsen, visited the Popular Mobilization Commission to discuss mechanisms of joint cooperation in organizing the “Martyrdom Week” festival in commemoration of Martyrs’ Day. The initiative aims to enhance cultural awareness and reinforce national values within the university community.
During the visit, ways to support the festival and strengthen cooperation between the Cultural Center and the Popular Mobilization Commission were discussed, with a view to enhancing communication between academic institutions and national bodies in serving society and commemorating national occasions through purposeful cultural activities.
Dr. Abdul Mohsen affirmed that organizing this festival represents an expression of loyalty to the sacrifices of the martyrs and a remembrance of the heroism of the Popular Mobilization forces in defending the homeland and sacred sites. He also emphasized the importance of holding cultural and awareness-raising events that contribute to fostering a sense of belonging and consolidating the values of self-sacrifice and altruism.
