University of Basrah Hosts Islamic Thinker Sheikh Ali Reza Panahian in an Intellectual Seminar
In a step aimed at strengthening frameworks of international cultural cooperation, the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah hosted the Iranian Islamic thinker Sheikh Ali Reza Panahian.
Sheikh Panahian delivered a lecture in which he addressed the philosophy of the Arbaeen pilgrimage and its pivotal role in reinforcing the values of social solidarity and human dignity. He explained that the pilgrimage represents a major phenomenon that consolidates Islamic identity and promotes positive change in the behavior of individuals and societies alike.
The seminar concluded by highlighting the media marginalization of authentic religious values due to their perceived conflict with prevailing civil ideologies, and by emphasizing the activation of rational awareness to confront these challenges and enhance the status of ethical values within the university environment.
