Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Sedimentary and Mineralogical Characteristics of the Al-Tayyib Alluvial Fan
A master’s thesis at the College of Science, University of Basrah, investigated the sedimentological and mineralogical characteristics of the Al-Tayyib alluvial fan, located northeast of Maysan Governorate in southern Iraq.
The thesis, submitted by student Mustafa Mohammed Jabbar, aimed to interpret sedimentary processes and identify the types of rocks and source materials that contributed to the formation of the deposits.
The thesis comprised four chapters, in which the researcher discussed the impact of tectonic and climatic activity on the development of the Al-Tayyib alluvial fan, as it represents a sedimentary system influenced by both tectonic and climatic factors.
