University of Basrah Organizes Guidance Workshop on Traffic Awareness Among University Students
The College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah and the Basrah Governorate Traffic Directorate, organized a guidance workshop entitled Traffic Awareness Among University Students.
The workshop aimed to promote adherence to traffic laws as an ethical and humanitarian necessity, reduce traffic accidents by developing risk-anticipation skills, and foster a safe university environment.
The workshop featured a lecture delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Jamal Nasser Rashid from the Basrah Governorate Traffic Directorate, addressing driving ethics, legal regulations, causes of traffic accidents, road safety, and their psychological impacts.
The workshop concluded with recommendations to integrate traffic awareness into student activities, activate the role of university clubs, strengthen cooperation with traffic authorities, improve infrastructure, and establish a university observatory to monitor traffic behaviors.
