University of Basrah Faculty Member Granted a Patent for a Fish Preservation Technology
A faculty member of the College of Science at the University of Basrah, Dr. Hisham Fayadh Mohammed, has been granted a patent for the development of an innovative technology for preserving chilled fish fillets using edible gelatin-based films reinforced with nano magnesium oxide.
The patent involves the preparation and development of a film with effective antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, intended for use in food preservation and the enhancement of food quality.
