University of Basrah Receives a Delegation from the Chinese Consulate
The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem Al-Asadi, received in his office a high-level delegation from the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China, headed by the Director of Bilateral Relations between China and Iraq, in the presence of a number of the university’s academic and administrative leaders.
The Director of the Department of Scientific Affairs at the University Presidency, Dr. Muhannad Hamed Aboud, stated that the meeting discussed activating the exchange of visits between professors and researchers, as well as exploring mechanisms for cooperation between the University of Basrah and Beijing and Shanghai universities to support postgraduate students, with an emphasis on strengthening scientific communication with leading Chinese universities.
For their part, the Chinese delegation expressed great interest in the university’s academic standing, affirming that this visit will be followed by concrete practical steps to translate these understandings into on-the-ground projects, in a manner that serves the educational process in both friendly countries.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of symbolic gifts on the occasion of the New Year celebrations, reflecting the longstanding friendship between the two sides.
