University of Basrah Ranks Third in the Iraqi University Classification
The University of Basrah has secured third place in the Iraqi University Classification for 2025, conducted by the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The President of the University, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem Al-Asadi, stated that the University of Basrah achieved third place among public universities, following the evaluation of more than one hundred public and private institutions based on nine main performance indicators.
He added that the assessment criteria covered institutional accreditation, international rankings, research effectiveness, sustainable development, and green indicators, in addition to academic and scientific performance, compliance standards, awards, and occupational health and safety.
Dr. Al-Asadi emphasized that this achievement is the result of the significant efforts exerted by the university’s academic and administrative staff to attain advanced positions at all levels.
