A doctoral dissertation submitted to the College of Arts at the University of Basrah examined the extent and nature of the American press’s interest in the events of the Iran–Iraq War (1980–1988).
The dissertation, presented by the student Ali Turki Sakhi, aimed to analyze the events of the Iran–Iraq War as covered by official American newspapers.
The study comprised four chapters in which the researcher discussed the stance of the American press toward the outbreak of the Iran–Iraq War, its coverage of the war’s events and repercussions, its position on the developments of the conflict and the general conditions in both countries, as well as the Arab and international responses to them.
