Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Reservoir Pressure Analysis in the West Qurna Oilfield
A master’s thesis submitted to the College of Science at the University of Basrah examined the analysis of reservoir pressure in the West Qurna oilfield, southern Iraq.
The thesis, presented by student Mustafa Abdul Hussein Abdul Hassan, aimed to introduce the modeling and prediction of shut-in bottom-hole pressure for the Mishrif Formation in the West Qurna oilfield.
The thesis comprised four chapters, in which the student discussed the application of an integrated framework based on geostatistical methods, time series analysis, and Monte Carlo simulation. This approach seeks to improve pressure maintenance strategies and guide future production and injection plans under conditions of geological variability and operational constraints.
