University of Basrah Receives Students of Al-Nahda Intermediate School for Girls
The Secretariat of the Central Library at the University of Basrah received students of Al-Nahda Intermediate School for Girls during a scientific field trip, accompanied by their teaching staff.
Commenting on the visit, the Secretary of the Central Library, Dr. Ahmed Razzaq Al-Fartousi, stated that the visit aimed to acquaint the students with the library’s facilities and sections, its founding circumstances and historical development, and the valuable and rare books it houses, which represent an important intellectual heritage within Iraqi civilization. He added that the visit also highlighted the library’s role in sustaining knowledge, educating individuals and the Iraqi society, and the essential services it provides to undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as researchers from various Iraqi universities. In addition, the library contains a wide range of books, sources, periodicals, and scientific references in both print and electronic formats.
