University of Basrah Organizes a Seminar on Minorities in Iraqi Society
The College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah organized a seminar titled “Minorities in Iraq and Their Role in Building Social Peace,” as part of its awareness-raising and cultural activities aimed at promoting the values of peaceful coexistence and respect for societal diversity.
The seminar sought to highlight the importance of behavioral awareness and the boundaries of mutual respect, as well as to clarify the role of students in protecting themselves and their community, thereby strengthening a culture of tolerance and social peace within and beyond the university environment.
The seminar featured lectures delivered by a number of the college’s faculty members, addressing several key themes, most notably the concept of respect and the limits of humane interaction, in addition to the role of the individual in preserving personal dignity and safeguarding the social fabric. The discussions emphasized the responsibility of university youth in consolidating the principles of coexistence and mutual understanding among the various components of Iraqi society.
