University of Basrah Holds a Lecture on Teaching and Learning in Instructional Methods for Applied Sciences
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah held a scientific lecture on the first unit entitled “Teaching and Learning,” as part of the Sixth Teaching Methods Course for Applied Specializations in the southern region.
The lecture aimed to develop the skills of academic staff and enhance their competencies in understanding the concepts of teaching and learning, thereby improving the quality of the educational process.
The lecture, delivered by Dr. Rafid Abdul-Jabbar Mohammed, reviewed key modern teaching and learning strategies, including the direct method, discussion, and brainstorming, in addition to the use of educational tools and technologies and assessment methods.
The lecture also addressed the competencies of the university lecturer, the student, and the curriculum, as well as the components of a successful educational process, contributing to the enhancement of university education outcomes.
