University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on First Aid
The Central Library Secretariat at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Health Center at Bab Al-Zubair, organized a workshop titled “The Role of First Aid in Treating Burns, Fractures, and Bleeding.”
The workshop aimed to raise health awareness among employees and staff in government institutions and enhance their readiness to handle emergency cases in the workplace.
The workshop, delivered by Dr. Hiba Hadeer Faris, a family medicine specialist in the First Sector of the Basrah Health Directorate, covered the fundamentals and principles of first aid, its importance for the injured, life-saving steps, types of injuries, degrees of burns and fractures, and bleeding, as well as the proper first aid procedures for each case to ensure safe transfer of the injured to medical facilities.
