The Presidency of the University of Basrah held a central ceremony to mark the university’s attainment of Institutional Accreditation for the period 2025–2027, at Al-Sayyab Hall in the University Presidency building, with the attendance of presidents of private universities in Basrah Governorate.
In his address at the ceremony, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, stated:
“This achievement would not have been possible without the continuous efforts exerted by the university’s staff, who firmly believe that quality is not merely a slogan, but a culture of work and a shared responsibility.”
He added that since its establishment, the University of Basrah has been keen to institutionalize quality standards and academic accreditation, develop its educational programs, and strengthen its research environment in line with the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, while keeping pace with scientific and global developments, in a manner that serves society and supports sustainable development.
Al-Asadi emphasized that institutional accreditation is granted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to universities that fulfill national quality standards in their administrative structure, human and financial resources, educational environment, strategic planning, and educational outcomes.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of Certificates of Excellence to the heads of Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation units in the university’s colleges and centers, as well as to the preparatory committee of the ceremony.
