University of Basrah Holds Lecture on Fundamentals of Measurement and Evaluation for the Third Unit of the Humanities Course
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah held a lecture on the fundamentals of measurement and evaluation for the humanities course, as part of the sixth Teaching Methods course.
The lecture aimed to equip newly appointed instructors with advanced degrees (Master's and PhD) with the essential skills needed to design measurement tools and their scoring mechanisms.
The lecture, presented by faculty member Tharaa Abdul-Rasoul Hassan, included an explanation of the concepts of measurement, evaluation, and assessment, their types, how to apply them in the teaching process, the distinction between types of scales in terms of their use, the differentiation between types of evaluation, the design of effective tests, and the formulation of objective and essay questions.
