The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah welcomed a delegation of farmers and livestock and fish breeders from the northern districts of Basra.
The visit aimed to explore modern agricultural technologies and innovative research plans to address climate change.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi, announced that the college and its laboratories are open to provide scientific consultations and solutions to plant and animal agricultural problems. He emphasized the commitment to utilizing academic expertise to serve Basra's farmers and enhance food security.
The visit included presentations on advanced technologies such as the use of solar energy in agriculture, aquaponics systems, modern methods of cattle breeding and milk collection, and efficient water management through drip irrigation and greenhouse farming.
