A PhD dissertation at the College of Arts, University of Basrah, examined the paths of deviation and the disruption of the Imamate's role for the Imams of the Ahlul-Bayt (peace be upon them) up to the year 329 AH/940 CE.
The dissertation, submitted by student Faisal Ghazi Jaber, aims to identify the paths of deviation taken by those who strayed from the path of Imamate for political motives and personal interests.
The dissertation comprises three chapters in which the student discusses the definitional framework of the concepts of deviation, Shi'ism, Imamate, intellectual deviation, the fragmentation of religious and intellectual sects, political revolutions, and the legitimacy of their inception.
