Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Response of Genetic Varieties of Egyptian Clover
A master’s thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, examined the response of Egyptian clover varieties to different seeding rates and evaluated their forage value.
The thesis, presented by researcher Saif Khalil Abdul Zahra, aimed to assess the performance of four Egyptian clover varieties and to study the effect of seeding rates on yield and quality characteristics.
The study included a comparison between two local varieties, Musqawi and Sumer, and two Iranian varieties, Bersim and Hamadani, under three different seeding rates.
The thesis recommended cultivating the Musqawi and Sumer varieties using a seeding rate of 45 kg ha⁻¹, as they achieved the best production and forage quality results.
