University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Building Religious Awareness to Counter Deviance and Extremism
The Cultural Center at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the College of Arts, organized a workshop on the Imams of the Ahlulbayt (the Prophet's family) and building religious awareness to counter deviance and extremism. The workshop, attended by a number of students and professors, was part of the university's efforts to enhance intellectual and religious awareness and consolidate the values of moderation and balance in society.
The workshop aimed to highlight the pioneering role of the Imams of the Ahlulbayt in building a sound religious awareness based on ethical and intellectual values, and to shed light on their approach to confronting manifestations of deviance and extremism.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by Dr. Nizar Abdul-Muhsin Jaafar, Director of the Cultural Center at the University of Basrah, who reviewed the intellectual and educational dimensions of the Imams of the Ahlulbayt's approach and their role in consolidating the concepts of moderation and tolerance and developing awareness among members of society.
