University of Basrah Conducts a Volunteer Campaign to Rehabilitate the Facade of the Natural History Museum
The administration and staff of the Natural History Museum at the University of Basrah participated in the volunteer campaign launched by the University under the slogan “Our Environment is More Beautiful with Our Hands.” The initiative included a special activity focused on rehabilitating the museum’s facade and the surrounding areas, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the service and aesthetic aspects of the university campus.
The campaign generally aimed to promote the civilizational appearance of the University’s facilities and improve its environment, while the museum’s activity contributed to preparing its facade to receive visitors and scientific delegations in a manner befitting its scientific and cultural standing.
The activity included cleaning works, removal of waste, soil leveling, and the planting of various seedlings, tree cuttings, and plants that add aesthetic value to the area, in addition to their environmental role in improving air quality and enhancing vegetation cover.
The Director of the Museum, Dr. Shatha Mohammed Hamza, emphasized the museum’s commitment to engaging in university initiatives that serve the campus environment, noting that such activities reflect a spirit of cooperation and teamwork and contribute to promoting a culture of caring for public spaces and improving them aesthetically and environmentally.
