University of Basrah Hosts Entrepreneurship Week Activities with an AI-Powered Clinical Diagnosis Project
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah participated in the Entrepreneurship Week activities held at the College of Medicine under the theme “Towards Innovative Medical Entrepreneurship in Service of Our Community.” The participation featured the presentation of a qualitative project in the field of artificial intelligence for clinical diagnosis, showcased during the Entrepreneurship Conference attended by a number of investors and representatives of the Central Bank.
The presentation included a practical model demonstrating the integration of artificial intelligence technologies in clinical decision support systems, contributing to enhanced diagnostic accuracy, improved quality of healthcare services, and reduced operational challenges within medical institutions. This initiative reflects the project’s readiness to transition from a research concept into a practical application with tangible impact on the healthcare sector.
In this context, the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Asaad Mohammed Kazem, commended the active participation, praising the efforts of the students and the supervision provided by the academic staff. He reaffirmed the College’s commitment to supporting applied entrepreneurial initiatives that align with the strategic objectives of the University of Basrah in fostering an innovative academic environment and linking higher education outcomes to community needs and labor market demands.
