University of Basrah Organizes a Panel Discussion on Accounting Between Digital Transformation and Traditional Perspectives
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled “Accounting Between the Digital Transformation and Traditional Perspectives: Challenges and Opportunities.”
The discussion aimed to highlight the role of digitalization tools in accounting practices, as well as to outline the advantages of adopting digital systems and the organizational, human, and technical challenges associated with their implementation.
The session, delivered by lecturer Murtadha Kazem, included a presentation on the major obstacles facing digital transformation, such as infrastructure limitations, implementation costs, and the need for staff qualification and training, in addition to reviewing the opportunities available to institutions.
The discussion emphasized the importance of updating academic curricula, integrating accounting information systems, and organizing specialized training programs.
