University of Basrah Organizes Religious Seminar on the Occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Imam Al-Mahdi (May Allah Hasten His Reappearance)
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah organized a religious seminar marking the birth anniversary of Imam Al-Hujjah (may Allah hasten his reappearance), entitled “Imam Al-Hussain (peace be upon him) as Our Path toward Imam Al-Mahdi.”
The seminar aimed to highlight two significant events—Karbala and the reappearance—and to transform emotional attachment to Imam Al-Hussain (peace be upon him) into a practical framework that prepares believers to become active participants in the mission associated with Imam Al-Mahdi (peace be upon him).
The seminar addressed the intellectual connection between the revolution of Imam Al-Hussain (peace be upon him) and the cause of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance), emphasizing that the uprising of Imam Al-Hussain represents a foundational starting point for the anticipated reappearance. It further discussed the moral and educational lessons derived from the movement of Imam Al-Hussain as a practical model for nurturing the qualities of Imam Al-Mahdi’s supporters and for correcting the concept of awaiting the Imam’s reappearance—transforming it from a passive state of mere anticipation into an active and responsible engagement. The seminar also underscored the importance of commemorating Ashura rituals and linking their meanings to the concept of active anticipation, presenting the annual remembrance of Karbala as a dynamic force that renews commitment, strengthens moral resolve, and reinforces optimism that ultimate victory belongs to the people of justice, culminating in the establishment of divine justice under the leadership of Imam Al-Mahdi.
