Master’s Thesis at the University of Basrah Explores the Use of Plant Extracts in Bacterial Treatment
A master’s thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrah investigated the treatment of pathogenic bacteria in hospital wastewater using selected plant extracts and nanoparticles.
The thesis, submitted by student Mustafa Abdul Karim Jaddou, aimed to address bacterial contamination in hospital wastewater through environmentally friendly methods, utilizing plant extracts and biologically synthesized nanoparticles derived from these extracts for wastewater treatment.
The study comprised four chapters in which the student examined the ability of plant extracts to reduce silver ions and form silver nanoparticles, highlighting their content of active chemical compounds.
