University of Basrah Organizes Scientific Seminar on Oral Lesion Etiology from the Perspective of Oral Medical Microbiology
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized a brief scientific seminar for postgraduate students, addressing the latest developments regarding the causes of oral lesions from the perspective of oral medical microbiology.
The seminar aimed to provide postgraduate students with up-to-date scientific knowledge on the etiology of oral lesions, elucidating their pathogenic mechanisms and causative factors, introducing modern molecular diagnostic techniques, and emphasizing the importance of early detection. It also sought to raise awareness of scientifically validated preventive methods, thereby enhancing students’ skills in diagnosing and preventing oral lesions.
The seminar, delivered by Dr. Salman Sahib Atshan, covered the oral environment and factors contributing to pathological lesions, the causes of dental caries, periodontal disease etiology, and microbial infections in the oral cavity.
