University of Basrah Organizes Lecture on Climate Change
The Natural History Museum at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture entitled “Climate Change and Its Impact on Biodiversity” as part of the center’s activities aimed at raising environmental awareness and promoting scientific literacy among students and individuals interested in environmental issues.
The lecture aimed to highlight the phenomenon of climate change and its escalating impacts on ecosystems and living organisms, emphasizing the risks posed to biodiversity due to rising temperatures and accelerated climatic shifts, while underscoring the importance of protecting natural resources and maintaining ecological balance.
The lecture, presented by researcher Zahraa Abdul Ameer Taha, covered several scientific topics, including the causes of climate change, its effects on natural habitats, its implications for endangered species, and strategies to mitigate these impacts. It also emphasized the role of educational institutions in fostering environmental awareness.
