University of Basrah Holds Specialized Scientific Symposium on Pediatric Heart Failure
The Pediatrics Department at the College of Medicine, University of Basrah, in collaboration with the Basrah Health Directorate and the Cardiac Malformations Division at Al-Sayyab Teaching Hospital, organized a specialized scientific symposium titled “Pediatric Heart Failure.”
The symposium aimed to highlight heart failure in children, its pathological causes, early diagnostic methods, and the latest treatment approaches for this age group, emphasizing the importance of early intervention to prevent disease progression and improve therapeutic outcomes.
Discussions addressed several complications associated with heart failure, particularly stroke and kidney failure, reviewing their pathological mechanisms and approaches for diagnosis and treatment according to modern medical standards.
This symposium reflects the College of Medicine’s commitment to updating medical knowledge and keeping pace with scientific developments, positively impacting the quality of healthcare provided to children and enhancing the academic and research role of the University of Basrah.
