University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Plaster Casting in Silicone Molds
In support of students’ practical skills and to enhance their experience in the fields of artistic formation, the College of Fine Arts at the University of Basrah organized a workshop entitled “Plaster Casting in Silicone Molds.”
The workshop aimed to introduce students to the scientific foundations and simplified methods of producing handcrafted works using plaster casting techniques within silicone molds, with particular emphasis on the fine artistic aspects that ensure the quality of the final product.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by several faculty members of the College, providing a detailed explanation of mold preparation mechanisms, correct casting techniques, and methods for avoiding common mistakes, ultimately leading to the production of refined artistic works that reflect both technical understanding and aesthetic awareness.
