University of Basrah Organizes Lecture on the Role of Women in Promoting a Culture of Peace
The Natural History Museum at the University of Basrah organized an awareness lecture entitled “The Role of University Women in Promoting a Culture of Peace and Rejecting Hatred,” as part of its ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering human values and consolidating the principles of peaceful coexistence within the university community.
The lecture sought to elucidate the pivotal role played by university women in building a society grounded in mutual respect and constructive dialogue. It also highlighted the importance of engaging women in promoting a culture of peace and confronting discourses of hatred and extremism.
Delivered by Legal Advisor Nidal Jarrah Bakal, the lecture addressed several key themes, including the legal frameworks supporting women’s rights, the importance of empowering women within educational institutions, and their role in promoting tolerance and rejecting violence. It further reviewed mechanisms for establishing a safe and inclusive university environment based on pluralism and respect for differing opinions.
This event forms part of a series of awareness-raising activities regularly organized by the Museum in support of social peace and in the promotion of legal and cultural awareness among students.
