University of Basrah Organizes Seminar on Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah organized an educational seminar entitled “Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism: Understanding, Causes, and Educational Prevention.”
The seminar aimed to introduce students to the concept of violent extremism and its intellectual, psychological, and social dimensions, explain the factors leading to behavioral deviation, and highlight the educational role in limiting this phenomenon within educational institutions.
The seminar, delivered by Dr. Rafif Abdulhafidh, a lecturer at the College of Education for Women, included a scientific presentation addressing the major factors contributing to extremism, including intellectual isolation, weak critical awareness, and exposure to targeted digital content.
