A master’s thesis at the College of Agriculture at University of Basrah examined the topic “Evaluation of the Efficiency of a Bacterial Preparation in Controlling the Tomato Leaf Miner in Basrah Governorate.”
The thesis, presented by researcher Alawi Rashid Alawi, aimed to investigate the effectiveness of certain local bacterial isolates in controlling insect pests.
The study demonstrated the possibility of isolating these bacteria from agricultural soils in Basrah Governorate, which was confirmed through molecular identification using PCR technology.
The study recommended the development of commercial formulations based on effective local isolates, with emphasis on improving storage conditions and stability to ensure the preservation of their efficacy for the longest possible period.
