The College of Agriculture at University of Basrah organized a scientific awareness seminar entitled “Enhancing Awareness and Education on Infectious Diseases and Their Modes of Transmission,” as part of its programs aimed at promoting health culture and preventive awareness within the university community.
The seminar, delivered by Dr. Samira Abdul Zahra Daaj and Dr. Khawla Hamza Mohammed, provided a clear scientific overview of the concept of infectious diseases and their mechanisms of transmission, whether through direct contact, respiratory droplets, or contaminated surfaces and tools. It also addressed the environmental and behavioral factors that contribute to their spread within society.
The lectures further highlighted key preventive measures, including adherence to personal hygiene practices, regular vaccinations, and the promotion of early health awareness.
