PhD Dissertation at the University of Basrah Investigates the Effect of Sprinkler Head Height in Sprinkler Irrigation Systems
A PhD dissertation at the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, investigated the effect of sprinkler head height, irrigation intervals, and the addition of an emulsified oil-based soil conditioner on certain properties of clay soil and the growth and yield of barley.
The study, presented by researcher Ali Mohammed Mahdi Al-Madi at the University of Basrah, aimed to demonstrate the effect of sprinkler head height and horizontal distance from the spray center on the physical and moisture properties of the soil and their impact on barley growth and productivity.
It also addressed the effect of irrigation intervals and the role of used engine oil emulsion in reducing soil degradation and improving soil productivity.
