University of Basrah Participates in Organizing an Anti-Violence Theatrical Performance
In implementation of the National Strategy for Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism, the Governorate’s Subcommittee organized a theatrical performance entitled “No to Violence” as part of the Soft Power Team’s initiatives aimed at employing the arts to promote a culture of moderation and reject extremism. The performance was staged at the Summer Theater in the gardens of the Central Public Library and was executed by Al-Ajyal Theatrical and Visual Arts Troupes, with the participation of the University of Basrah.
The performance sought to affirm the role of cultural and artistic engagement as an effective partner in strengthening social peace and consolidating human values that support stability.
It conveyed awareness-raising messages highlighting the dangers of violence and extremism, while emphasizing the importance of dialogue and peaceful coexistence in building a cohesive and secure society.
