University of Basrah Organizes an Awareness Seminar on the Psychological Impacts of Human Trafficking and Legal Protection for Victims
The College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized an awareness seminar entitled “The Psychological Impacts of Human Trafficking and Legal Protection for Victims (A Psychological and Legal Study).”
The seminar aimed to enhance students’ societal and legal awareness by identifying risk indicators and prevention mechanisms against exploitation, while underscoring the importance of coordination between psychological specialists and legal authorities in safeguarding victims.
Delivered by Dr. Hanaa Abdul Nabi Kaban and Dr. Abdul Ali Hameed Abdul Ali, the seminar addressed the psychological and legal dimensions of human trafficking and clarified the distinctions between human trafficking and migrant smuggling. It further emphasized the necessity of providing rehabilitation and support programs in cooperation with civil society organizations.
