University of Basrah Launches Tree Planting Campaign on its Campus
The Palm Research Center at the University of Basrah launched a tree planting campaign at the Garmat Ali site, in line with the university's directives aimed at enhancing the university environment and improving its standing in international rankings.
The campaign saw the participation of researchers and staff from the center, who planted a number of palm saplings suitable for the local environment, particularly varieties related to the center's work and scientific specialization. The goal is to increase green spaces and improve the urban landscape within the campus.
The center's administration emphasized that this initiative stems from its scientific and environmental responsibility, contributing to instilling a culture of tree planting and environmental conservation among students and researchers, given its positive impact on improving the university climate and promoting sustainability.
This campaign is part of a series of activities implemented by the center to support the university's efforts in caring for green spaces and serving the community.
