University of Basrah Organizes a Symposium on Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) in Religious and Literary Thought
The College of Education in Qurna, University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Imam al-Kadhim College, organized a scholarly symposium entitled "Imam al-Mahdi in Religious and Islamic Thought and His Influence on Arabic Literature."
The symposium aimed to disseminate Mahdawi culture and enhance awareness among the college's students and staff of the role of Arabic literature in addressing doctrinal and intellectual issues.
The symposium addressed the concept of Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) in religious and Islamic thought and the idea of the savior, while also highlighting the differing perspectives on his person and advent. It further shed light on the presence of Imam al-Mahdi in ancient and modern Iraqi poetry, explaining the political, spiritual, and social dimensions of his portrayal, and the role of poetry in consolidating Mahdawi belief and disseminating its message within cultural and media consciousness.
