University of Basrah Organizes Seminar on Women's Leadership
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah organized an awareness seminar entitled "Women's Leadership in Government Institutions," which was held at the General Company for Electricity Distribution in the South.
The seminar aimed to enhance women's role in decision-making, highlight their ability to manage positive change and overcome workplace obstacles, and empower women by developing their leadership skills in supporting psychological well-being and stimulating professional creativity to ensure a more productive and balanced work environment.
The seminar, presented by faculty member Zainab Fadhil Al-Tamimi, highlighted women's ability to assume leadership positions and effect positive change in governmental and educational institutions. It discussed the obstacles women face and how to overcome them to ensure their active participation in decision-making. The seminar also covered training in effective leadership techniques, professional guidance, and the transfer of expertise to future generations. Emphasis was placed on raising awareness of the importance of providing psychological support to female employees, balancing firmness in management with a supportive environment, and advocating for laws and legislation that support women's access to leadership positions. The seminar also stressed the importance of activating the role of education in developing leadership skills and encouraging creativity in the workplace, as well as recognizing successful female role models and providing incentives for outstanding female employees.
