University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Casgevy
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on the use of Casgevy in gene therapy for sickle cell anemia and beta-thalassemia.
The workshop aimed to introduce Casgevy in the field of gene medicine, as it has opened future prospects for developing curative treatments for other genetic diseases.
The workshop included a lecture presented by Dr. Shaimaa Nadim, a faculty member at the college, who explained that Casgevy is one of the latest internationally approved gene therapies, used to treat transfusion-dependent sickle cell anemia and beta-thalassemia.
