Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Prediction of Returns and Risks in Stock Investments
A master's thesis at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Basrah, explored the prediction of returns and risks in stock investments using multi-layered neural networks. The study examined a sample of banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange for the period 2012–2024.
The thesis, submitted by student Abdul-Khaliq Mudhar Mahmoud, aimed to test the efficiency of intelligent models in predicting returns and risks based on historical data.
It included the development of a predictive model that estimated outcomes for the period 2025–2030.
The study concluded that it is possible to predict returns using multi-layered networks and to predict risks using a hybrid model that combines modern and traditional methods.
