University of Basrah Organizes Seminar on the Impact of Drug Use
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education and the Basra Anti-Narcotics Directorate, organized a scientific seminar entitled “The Impact of Drug Use on University Students.”
The seminar aimed to raise students’ awareness of preventative measures, correct misconceptions about certain stimulants, and promote a culture of early intervention.
The seminar, presented by Dean Ali Mohsen, Director of the Legal Division, included a presentation on the health, psychological, and legal dimensions of drug use, its impact on academic performance and behavior, and the penalties stipulated in applicable laws.
The seminar recommended activating psychological counseling, intensifying awareness programs, and strengthening cooperation with relevant authorities.
