University of Basrah Holds Workshop on Preventing Communicable Diseases in the University Workplace
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the College of Nursing, held a training workshop entitled "Preventing Communicable Diseases in the University Workplace." The workshop aimed to enhance health awareness among students and staff and reduce the spread of diseases on campus.
The workshop aimed to inform participants about common behaviors that contribute to disease transmission, areas of spread, and methods of prevention.
Presented by Dr. Khulood Abdul-karim Hussein, the workshop included an introduction to communicable diseases among employees, particularly bacterial, viral, and parasitic diseases, and emphasized the importance of adhering to daily health guidelines.
The workshop recommended strengthening awareness programs, encouraging regular checkups, improving ventilation in classrooms and laboratories, activating the role of occupational safety and health units, and promoting a culture of shared health responsibility.
