The University of Basrah and the Basrah Chamber of Commerce Discuss Mechanisms of Cooperation with Germany’s bbw to Support Small Enterprises
The University of Basrah and the Basrah Chamber of Commerce explored avenues for joint cooperation during an introductory workshop on the GLO Program, held in collaboration with bbw Germany (the Empowerment Institute in the State of Bavaria).
The initiative aims to support small enterprises and enhance opportunities for economic development in Basrah Governorate.
Dr. Ali Khudair Jaber affirmed the readiness of the College of Agriculture to provide technical and advisory support for food industry projects, particularly dairy enterprises in the marshland areas, citing the abundance of raw materials and the relatively low establishment costs. He also proposed organizing specialized training workshops for young people within the university.
Meanwhile, Dr. Farqad Murtadha Hameed emphasized the importance of internship programs and the establishment of a specialized institute, in addition to launching training programs in digital marketing, cash flow management, and negotiation skills. Such initiatives, he noted, would enhance graduates’ employability and contribute to sustainable development.
