University of Basrah Hosts Workshop on the Smart Naqa System
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah, in collaboration with Al-Noor Renewable Energy Company, organized a workshop titled “Smart Naqa System for Monitoring and Managing Fish Farms”, attended by representatives of relevant authorities and specialists in the field.
The workshop aimed to familiarize fish farmers with water quality monitoring technologies and automated farm management systems to enhance productivity, reduce risks, prevent diseases, and employ smart technology for remote fish farm management as part of efforts to develop the fisheries sector.
The workshop explained the system’s mechanism, which relies on sensors that measure water quality indicators in real-time—including dissolved oxygen, temperature, and ammonia levels—and displays them on a smart application with instant alerts when safe limits are exceeded. The system also supports automation of operations, risk reduction, and data analysis to boost productivity.
