University of Basrah Organizes Scientific Visit to the University Food Industries Laboratory
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a field scientific visit for fourth-year students to the University Food Industries Laboratory in Karma Ali, Basrah Governorate, as part of the practical curriculum for the course “Meat Processing,” under the supervision of the course instructor, Dr. Alaa Muhammad Siddkhan.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Nofal Abdul Amir Hassan, the laboratory supervisor and general manager, who provided a practical explanation of meat processing technology, including the stages of grinding, mixing, and packaging, while highlighting the effects of added ingredients and internationally recognized safety standards.
The instructor emphasized that the visit contributes to enhancing practical skills and reinforcing the concepts of quality control and the HACCP system in a real work environment.
