University of Basrah Holds Scientific Workshop on Bacterial Culture, Isolation Methods, and Laboratory Diagnosis
The Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the College of Nursing, held a scientific workshop entitled "Bacterial Culture: Laboratory Methods for Isolation and Diagnosis."
The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the established laboratory principles of bacterial culture, isolation, and diagnosis, and to develop their practical skills in handling samples according to scientific standards and biosafety protocols, thus contributing to the accuracy of laboratory diagnoses.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Khulood Abdul-karim Hussein, covered scientific topics including the definition and importance of bacteria, the principles of bacterial culture, types of culture media, and traditional diagnostic methods, as well as a discussion of their practical applications.
The workshop recommended the necessity of enhancing basic knowledge and adhering to biosafety procedures to ensure the quality of laboratory results.
